FAQ

Honest answers, including the uncomfortable ones

Prices incl. 18% GST · Caster ntrip.bharatrtk.com:2101 · Datum ITRF2020@2026.0 · Accuracy: typical 1–3 cm H / 2–5 cm V fixed, clear sky, within 30 km — always check into known control.

Getting started

What is BharatRTK?

A surveyor-owned NTRIP RTK/DGPS correction network for North India. Connect your rover over the internet to caster ntrip.bharatrtk.com:2101 and get centimetre fixes without setting up your own base. Pilot: 45 stations (Punjab 20 / Haryana 15 / Delhi-NCR 5 / Rajasthan-adjacent 5) of 202 planned at 50 km spacing.

How do I start a trial?

Pick any plan and request a 14-day free trial — no card needed. We issue one NTRIP login, you enter the caster host, port 2101, mountpoint (nearest-base or VRS), and go. Fix in clear sky is typically under 30 seconds within 30 km of a station.

What do I need in the field?

A GNSS rover with NTRIP client (built into almost all survey controllers), a data SIM or phone hotspot, and your BharatRTK username/password. Any internet that can hold a TCP socket works — even 2–5 Mbps.

Accuracy & coverage

What accuracy can I expect?

Typical 1–3 cm H, 2–5 cm V, fixed solution, clear sky, within 30 km, quiet ionosphere; degrades with distance + post-sunset 19:00–01:00 equinox scintillation; always check into known control before and after every job.

Where does it work today?

45 pilot stations: Punjab 20, Haryana 15, Delhi-NCR 5, Rajasthan-adjacent 5. Median 30-day uptime ~99.1%. Full design is 202 stations at 50 km spacing. Check /status for the live station table (places are hex-rounded, never exact addresses) and /coverage for the map.

What if network goes down?

Fall back to your nearest single-base mountpoint (listed on /status), or run your own base + PPK backup for the session. Our 99% SLA target covers the caster and reference data feed — see /legal/sla for credits. Ionospheric storms and power/internet outages at a host site are excluded, which is why every job must check into known control.

Does it work at night?

Yes, but plan critical stakeout for daylight near equinox. Elevated ionospheric activity is possible 19:30–23:00 and scintillation can stretch fix times or break hold on long baselines. See /learn/ionosphere-india.

Devices

Which receivers are supported?

Any NTRIP-capable rover: CHCNAV, Stonex, South, Hi-Target, Emlid, Trimble, Leica, Topcon and more. If it speaks NTRIP v1/v2 and RTCM 3.x, it works. See /receivers for per-brand settings and mountpoint advice.

Which mountpoint should I use?

Nearest-base (e.g. PB-MOH-01) for most topo/stakeout work — most transparent behaviour. VRS/virtual mountpoint when you are between stations or want the engine to interpolate. Your controller shows baseline length; keep critical work under 30 km.

Can I use two rovers on one login?

One login = one concurrent connection on standard plans. Firms with 2+ rovers should take the 3-device or 10-device annual plans (multi-device saving built in). Sharing one login across crews will kick the older session.

Billing & GST

How are you cheaper than Survey of India?

We are roughly 1/8th the price of SOI CORS private RTK (₹8,999/yr vs ₹70,800/yr incl. GST) because we run lean commercial hardware, focus on 4 states first, and sell self-serve online instead of institutional procurement. The trade-off is honest: SOI is free for government users and runs 1,105+ stations nationally — we admit that openly. Choose us for price, support responsiveness, and surveyor UX; choose SOI if you need pan-India public infrastructure or a government receipt.

Are prices really inclusive of GST?

Yes — every price on this site includes 18% GST, and your invoice shows the split (e.g. Monthly ₹999 incl. = ₹847 + ₹152 GST).

What are the refund rules?

14-day free trial on Monthly/Annual; pro-rata refund on Annual if you cancel mid-year; Day Pass is non-refundable after activation (it is meant as the paid trial). Full policy at /legal/refunds.

Hosting a station

What do I get for hosting a base?

Subsidised Standard hardware (₹24,999 vs ₹59,999), free install in most cases, free annual subscription while you host, and a variable monthly payout linked to station uptime and subscriber load. Payouts are variable and not guaranteed — see the formula in /legal/host-agreement.

What does hosting require?

36-month agreement, clear sky view, continuous power + internet (6 h battery backup included), roof/mast access for maintenance, and return of HaaS hardware if you exit early. Data from the station belongs to the network; your exact address is never published.

Technical — datum, RTCM, VRS

What datum are corrections in?

Geodetic reference is ITRF2020@2026.0. RTCM 3.x messages (1005/1006, 1033, 1077/1087/1097/1117/1127 MSM) carry multi-constellation observations (GPS + GLONASS + Galileo + BeiDou + NavIC where visible). Caster: ntrip.bharatrtk.com:2101.

Is my survey legally valid on your datum?

Corrections are a geodetic reference (ITRF2020@2026.0) — the cadastral or project datum is your state's specification (e.g. state CORS transform, GTS, or site calibration). Legal validity depends on checking into known control in the required datum and following the surveyor-of-record's responsibility. When in doubt, calibrate to local control and document it. We provide the ruler, not the verdict.

VRS or nearest-base?

Both are offered. Nearest-base is a real station's data — predictable, auditable. VRS interpolates a virtual station near you — often faster fixes mid-network, but hides baseline length. For legal/cadastral work many surveyors prefer nearest-base + documented baseline.

Support

How do I reach support?

Email hello@bharatrtk.com (field hours 8:00–20:00 IST), or /contact. Escalation: field support → network engineer → founder. SLA incidents are acknowledged per /legal/sla.

Do you help with receiver settings?

Yes — email your receiver + controller model to hello@bharatrtk.com and we reply with exact NTRIP screens. Common setups are also on /tools/ntrip-settings and /receivers.

Still stuck? Email hello@bharatrtk.com (8:00–20:00 IST) or see contact + escalation path.
