CHCNAV i73 + BharatRTK setup
Last updated: 2026-09-20 · Applies to all firmware with NTRIP + RTCM 3.x
What you need
- CHCNAV i73 rover + controller with an NTRIP client
- Mobile internet on the controller (hotspot works)
- BharatRTK trial or paid login (username + password)
- Open sky — avoid heavy tree cover / building walls for first fix
Connect in 4 steps
1Create your BharatRTK account
Start the 14-day free trial, verify your phone number, and open the dashboard. Your trial caster username is created automatically.
2Copy your caster credentials
From the dashboard, copy your NTRIP username and password. Keep them private — one login per rover. You can rotate the password anytime.
3Enter host, port, mountpoint, user, pass on the rover
In your controller software (field app / web UI), add an NTRIP client profile: host ntrip.bharatrtk.com, port 2101, mountpoint BHR-VRS (or BHR-NEAR), plus your username and password. Select RTCM 3.x.
4Connect and verify a FIXED solution
Go outdoors with open sky, connect mobile data, and wait for FIXED (not Float/Single). Check age of corrections < 3 s and ≥12 satellites before staking or topo.
Which mountpoint?
| Mountpoint | What it is | Use when |
|---|---|---|
| BHR-VRS | Network (virtual) correction | Default. Best for baselines up to ~35 km. |
| BHR-NEAR | Nearest physical base | VRS unstable, or you want a single-base check. |
host: ntrip.bharatrtk.com
port: 2101
mountpoint: BHR-VRS / BHR-NEAR
user / pass: from your dashboard
5 common errors + fixes
1. Wrong port
Port must be 2101 (not 80/443/2102). Some apps add a default port — overwrite it manually and save the profile again.
2. Mountpoint typo
Mountpoints are case-sensitive: BHR-VRS or BHR-NEAR exactly. Bhr-vrs or BHR_VRS will fail with 404 / invalid source.
3. Expired or wrong password
Re-copy the password from the dashboard (no extra spaces). If you changed phones/apps, rotate the password once and update all profiles.
4. No internet on the controller
The rover needs mobile data or a hotspot. Test by opening any webpage on the controller, then reconnect NTRIP. SIM/data-pack issues cause most field failures.
5. Single-constellation / old RTCM
Enable GPS + GLONASS + Galileo + BeiDou and RTCM 3.x (MSM). GPS-only or CMR mode gives Float and slow fixes, especially 19:00–01:00 during scintillation season.
